WHAT DOES INSTALIFT DO
The Silhouette InstaLift™ provides a facelift-like effect through mid-face repositioning via two synergistic actions:
1. Immediately lifts and repositions the mid-face tissue
2. Gradually volumizes the face through collagen creation
Silhouette InstaLift is ideal for candidates who can not achieve their desired cosmetic goals through filler alone, or who experience moderate to advanced facial skin sagging, resulting in an aged and tired appearance.
It is a minimally-invasive “lunchtime” procedure that both redefines the contours of the mid-face by lifting the deeper layers of the skin for a more youthful look. As an additional result, because InstaLift is used in the subcutaneous tissue, it stimulates fibroblast activation and causes the body to gradually produce its own Type I and Type III collagen, for a naturally more youthful look.

Silhouette InstaLift is the ideal minimally-invasive solution for many women and men desire a refreshed appearance without major surgery, injections or lasers. The unique technology to lifts sagging skin effortlessly and naturally. Ideal candidates have moderate to advanced signs of aging good skin quality, with moderate sagging of the skin in the mid-face. The skin should not be too thick/heavy or too thin. InstaLift is an ideal treatment option for those who’s cosmetic goals require more than what fillers can provide, or for those who find that fillers can not achieve their advanced antiaging goals.
Instalift is ideal for patients who:
- Have moderate sagging in the mid-face
- Are suffering from strong bone projections as an indication of aging
- Have good skin thickness (neither too thick nor too thin)
- Have tissues that can be mobilized during examination
- Have visible marionette lines and/or NLR
It is not ideal for patients who:
- Have excessive skin due to advanced aging and thin skin
- Have Excessive skin in the mandibular region associated with thick skin
- Have a hypertrophic type aging
- Have very thin skin with little or no underlying fat

DOES LASER INSTALIFTS AND THREADLIFTS HURT
Although each patient has a different tollerance for pain and lidocane is used, the pain assiciated with instalifts is said to be far less than with a facelift, and with much less downtime.

WHAT IS INSTALIFT MADE OUT OF
Silhouette InstaLift™ sutures are made from Poly (glycolide/L-lactide) (PLGA), a polymer that is has been used in medical procedures for over 30 years. It is well tolerated by the body and absorbs easily. The fully resorbable sutures have bi-directional cones. The sutures lift, while the bi-directional cones hold the suture and cheek sub-dermis in an elevated position.

PREPARING FOR YOUR INSTALIFT PROCEDURE
You will be asked to stay away from alcohol and other blood thinners before and after your procdecure.
• Discontinue any retinoid products 5 days prior to treatment (also 5 days post treatment.)
• If you take Valtrex, have your Valtrex prescription filled and take starting 1 day before the treatment.
• Arrive to your appointment 45 minutes prior for numbing of the area.
• Shave the area if there is hair. If you have a beard, trim to what would be equivalent to a “2 day shadow.”
• Arrive clean faced without make-up, moisturizers or lotions.
INSTALIFT PROCEDURE AND PROCESS
Pre-treatment Consultation
During your consultation, we will take a quick medical history, discuss your expectations and tailor the treatment approach to meet your aesthetic needs. The procedure may be done on the day of the consultation or scheduled for a date in the future.
The entire InstaLift procedure takes about 45 minutes from start to finish.
Demonstrate and Mark The Desired Angles
We start by determining the desired movement of tissue. Together, with the patient, we visualize the desired lifting and results by demonstrating the movement of tissue with our fingers for the patient.The number of sutures applied depends on skin laxity, the condition of your skin and your cosmetic needs. All vectors are made in straight lines to ensure the strongest pull of tissue and the greatest facelift effect possible. Then we mark the entry and exit points for each suture.
Local Anesthesia
We use a 1% lidocaine with epinephrine at each entry and exit point. We penetrate the dermis layer of the skin using an 18 G needle to create an entry point. You will be fully awake and speaking during the procedure. Most patients report feeling light to moderate pain during the treatment.
Suture Insertion & Setting The Cones
Then we insert the Instalift sutures, one at a time, each using the same entry point. We apply tension on the medial part of the suture and massage tissue up and over the sutures to reposition the skin and secure the skin to the cones. Then, we lift and trim the suture close to the skin so that the remaining end of the suture sinks into the skin, leaving no evidence of the suture aside from the injection point.
AFTER RECEIVING AN INSTALIFT TREATMENT
- Apply cold packs after procedure
- Refrain from wearing make-up for 24 hours
- Sleep face-up with head elevated for 3-5 nights
- Do not aggressively rub face for 5 days
- No saunas for 3 weeks
- Avoid excessive neck and facial movement for 1 week
- Avoid high impact sports for 1 week
- Avoid direct exposure to sunlight/UV light for 1 week
- Avoid dental surgery
- Avoid facial or face down massages
Some minimal acute inflammatory tissue reaction is normal. Symptoms may also include pain, swelling and bruising.
