LASER VEIN REMOVAL

When it comes to vein removal, we don’t cut corners. We use a 2-step process for removing veins. First, we use Aesclera Sclerotherapy to diminish the main blood supply. Next we use the top-of-the-line Candella Laser to tackle the smaller spider veins. The veins disappear right before your eyes, with permanent and immediate results!

STEP 1: SCLEROTHERAPHY WITH AESCLERA

Sclerotherapy is the treatment of spider veins or small thin blood vessels that lie close to the surface of the skin by the injection of a sclerosing solution into the vessel with a hypodermic needle. Sclerosing solutions irritate the vessel lining and cause the lining to become inflamed and the blood within the vessel to clot.  This process causes the vessel to scar down and to become less noticeable or undetectable over a period of many weeks. In general, more than one treatment may be required for optimal results and any one vessel may require repeated injections weeks apart in order to achieve the desired result.

Following the treatment, normal activities can be resumed within reason. Use of hot tubs, hot baths and high impact activities such as aerobics, running, and leg weight lifting should be avoided for two weeks to avoid venous dilation. Legs may be wrapped with compression bandages and should remain on your legs for up to 24 hours.

Side effects of sclerotherapy may include slight swelling, bruising, and redness and itching at injection sites. If the solution leaks out of the vein, a slight pain and darkening of the skin occurs.

STEP 2: CANDELLA LASER

Our Candella machine is one of the best lasers in the industry for removing spider veins. We use a special hand piece that is formulated specially for laser vein removal. The attachment compresses the laser into a 1.5mm area, creating a concentrated amount of laser waves. Laser heat penetrates the superficial blood vessel. The heat generated from the laser coagulates the blood inside the vessel causing it to collapse and seal with scar tissue that closes the vein. The closed vein loses its source of blood and dies.

With the Candella laser, small veins disappear in moments, literally before your eyes. Larger veins, if not pre-treated with Aesclera, take up to a year to disappear.

You will be able to walk following the treatment, and recovery typically is short. You are likely to be able to return to your normal daily routine after your laser treatment.

DOES CANDELLA LASER VEIN REMOVAL HURT

You will feel a tingling sensation at the site of the laser. Most patients do require litocane creme to numb the area prior to treatment. Laser treatments are quick, and there is almost no downtime after the laser session is complete.

WHY DO I NEED BOTH PROCEDURES

Thats a very important question! As long as the main or varicose vein is in tact the spider veins will continue to appear. Many aesthetic spas will treat the smaller spider veins, knowing that the patient will have to return to get them removed over and over again. At Estucia of Palm Beach, we never cut corners. We eliminate the veins properly the first time, tackling the larger veins from the source with Aesclera whenever possible, and then giving immediate results for the spider veins with our Candella laser.

For small areas of spider veins, that appear without a vericose vein (which typically happens in the face) Aesclera may not need to be used. Each case is examined individually, during a complimentary consultation, at which time we will review the problem areas and devise a plan of correction together.

HOW QUICKLY WILL THE VEINS DISAPPEAR

The varicose veins, treated with Aesclera take up to 2 weeks to disappear, and sometimes require multiple treatments, depending on the severity of the vein.

For spider veins, with the Candella treatment, you can see the veins disappear right before your eyes.

The number of vein removal treatments needed will vary from case to case and will depend on the person being treated, and the pronunciation of the vein.

PREPARING FOR LASER VEIN REMOVAL

There are no major preparations required before the laser treatment. A few common sense recommendations include avoiding sun exposure, alcohol and any blood thinners such as Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin, Advil, coumadin or asprin.

On the day of the treatment avoid creams, lotions and moisturizers on the area to be treated. Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the body part(s).

AFTER RECEIVING VEIN REMOVAL TREATMENTS

After both Aesclera and Candella patients are able to return to work immediately. Most patients will incur redness for up to five days.

With Aesclera there is a slight chance of brown areas appearing beneath the skin for up to 14 days. This will disolve naturally.

ARE THE VEIN REMOVAL RESULTS PERMANENT

Yes, when laser vein removal is done in conjunction with Aesclera the results are permanent. New veins may always emerge, but any veins treated will disappear permanently, provided that both treatments are appropriately used.
