RESTYLANE VS JUVEDERM
Both Juvederm and Restylane are FDA Approved hyaluraunic fillers.
Juvederm is a smoother filler in that it blends into the skin more and is less likely to bump. Restylane is a bit thicker and can build on top of itself to create a more pronounced look. A more experienced practicioner can mold the Restylane to the exact look and shape you are looking for. For that reason it’s important to view an injector’s before and after photos, portfolio, and style of work before selecting an experienced injector.
Juvederm is made by Allergan. Restylane is made by Galderma.

RESTYLANE CANDIDATES
If you’re looking to fight the signs of facial aging, Restylane might be a solution for you. Depending on your age, skin condition, past procedures, the look you are aiming to achieve, and various other factors, Restylane may be for you. This varies on a case by case basis. The best way to get an accurate response is to have a one-on-one conversation with our cosmetic injectors.
CAN RESTYLANE BE REVERSED
Yes! Restylane can be reversed (dissolved) with hylauronidase. The hyluronidase solution can be injected into the same area, and will usually dissolve the Restylane in four to five days.
PREPARING FOR RESTYLANE TREATMENTS
You will be asked to avoid the following medications and herbs which may increase bleeding, and may cause bruising for at least two weeks prior to Kybella injections:
- Any NSAIDs (such as Ibuprofen, Aleve®, Motrin®, Advil®, or Aspirin®)
- Coumadin
- Garlic
- Ginseng
- Ginkgo Biloba
- Glucosamine
- Fish Oil, and St. John’s Wort, high doses of Vitamin E, and Alcohol.
It is best to remove makeup from the area being treated. We will gladly do this in office for you, however it is ideal if this can be done prior to treatment.
RESTYLANE PROCEDURE
Our Restylane procedures are very simple. Once you enter our injection room, our cosmetic injector will meet with you, discuss your desired results, and create a course of action with you.
The inections themselves take about 15-20 minutes.
AFTER RECEIVING RESTYLANE
As with most cosmetic injections, we recommend that you not exercise directly following treatment as this will raise blood pressure and interfere with the product settling properly.
It’s important to avoid strenuous activities, like working out, for 8 hours following treatment. Do not lie down for 8 hours following treatment.
To avoid altering your body’s temperature avoid exposure to intense heat (sun lamp or sunbathing) or extreme cold.
To reduce the risk of facial cold sore recurrence that could be caused by needle punctures, talk with your healthcare professional about medications that may minimize the likelihood of an outbreak.
To decrease the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site you may use cold compresses to reduce swelling. Avoid alcohol, any non-prescribed blood thinners or NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin, Advil, Aspirin, and some herbs like St. John’s Wort, and high doses of vitamin E supplements for one week after treatment.
HOW LONG DOES RESTYLANE LAST
The average Restylane treatment for lines, wrinkles, and folds, lasts 6-9 months. Lip treatments last between 3-4 months due to the high amount of movement in the area. Tear trough treatments can last up to a year or longer due to the lack of movement in the area.
All dermal filler results vary from person to person, depending on metabolism, water intake, and various other personal factors.
Whether you concerned about wrinkles in your forehead, smile lines, sagging skin, facial bone loss, double-chin, or other facial aging concerns, Estucia of Palm Beach can help. Ask us how Restylane or other dermal fillers or cosmetic injectables can give you smoother, fresher, more youthful skin.
