4x MORE EFFECTIVE PRP TREATMENTS

At Estucia we only use the best fillers, top-of-the-line tools, and most up-to-date techniques. Our state-of-the-art PRP procedures are no exception. We use the top-of-the-line Harvest Smartprep Multicellular Processing System as our centrifugal spinner, which rated #1 results in 7 comparative medical studies here.

While some medical spas offer PRP procedures with 15ccs of blood, our PRP sessions start at 30ccs of blood and go up to 60ccs, meaning that you get at least double the amount of blood per session. Not only do our sessions use MORE blood, but, due to our state-of-the-art spinners they also offer a higher concentration of platelets per session. Our 30cc PRP packages offer an average of 3 mL to 4mL of platelets. Our 60cc PRP packages offer an average  7 mL to 10 mL in platelets. The exact amount of platelets in your blood depends on your body.

Patients often find that with PRP procedures backed by our Harvest spinners the amount of recommended sessions can be reduced to 1-2 per year, versus 4-5 with other spinners.

WHAT IS PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has two components: Platelets, and Plasma.

Platelets are tiny blood cells that help your body form clots to stop bleeding. The platelets have growth factors and other cytokines that help stimulate the healing of soft tissue and encourage healing.

Plasma is the liquid portion of your blood. It is a protein and salt solution in which red and white blood cells and platelets are held.

Thus, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is plasma that has been manufactured to have higher doses of platelets than normal blood

PRP is made from your body’s own blood. First, a vial of blood is drawn. That vial is placed in a centrifuge, where it is spun at a high speed. The spinning process separates the platelets from other blood cells. Then, the extra platelets (which hold the growth factors) are combined with the remaining blood and injected into the area being treated.

The growth factors are activated by adding thrombin and calcium chloride.

HOW DOES PRP WORK AS A FILLER

We begin by using a microneedling tool to create a series of controlled injuries to the lips, cheeks, forehead, or other area being treated. The series of ultra fine needles prick a small area of skin at a quick rate. These micro-punctures are just large enough for the PRP to enter the lips, and enable the body to use it’s own healing mechanisms to heal itself.

The new skin that is formed is healthier, plumper, and more youthful, creating a look similar to that of a dermal filler.

PRP is so effective for skin treatments that its often called the “regenerative medicine”.

BENEFITS OF PRP FOR FILLER

  • All natural solution
  • Natural looking results
  • Lunchtime procedure
  • Proven results for plumper, more youthful lips

RESULTS OF PRP FOR LIP FILLER

  • Naturally thicker, fuller lips
  • Smoother, less wrinkled lips
  • Retain the youthful pink color to lips
  • Improves skin texture leaving it looking more moisturized

PRP VS LIP FILLERS

PRP is not a replacement for lip fillers for everyone. For those wishing to augment the shape of their lips, lip fillers, such as Juvederm, might be a better solution.

PRP is a great option for those looking to restore the natural youth to their lips, and for those whose lips have lost plumpness overtime. PRP is also a great solution for those who are looking for an all-natural alternative to lip fillers.

IS PRP SAFE

Absolutely. PRP is formulated from your body’s own blood, and has been proven to be safe by the FDA for a variety of uses including physical injuries, skincare, lip care, and hair regrowth.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR RESULTS TO OCCUR

The first results will be a slight swelling and redness of the lips or other area being treated. This will resolve in 28-48 hours.

Because the PRP encourages your body to naturally heal itself, the result takes some time to occur. The full results will appear within 3 months.

HOW MANY PRP SESSIONS ARE NEEDED

You will see results after your first treatment. Treatments can be performed one month apart.

Once the desired outcome is acheived, a patient can expect to need a renewal session on an annual basis.

PRP CANDIDATES

PRP candidates are those looking for a natural and subtle alternative to dermal fillers, or those looking to reverse the effects of aging on the lips.

PRP as a lip filler is a long-term treatment for deflated lips, or those experiencing a wrinking in the lips.

WHAT ELSE CAN PRP BE USED FOR

PRP is currently approved for P-Shots (to increase penis size and sexual appetite in men), O-Shots (to increase sexual appetite and incontinence in women), Hair Loss (to rejuvinate the hairline and create thicker, fuller hair), to Plump Lips, and as a Vampire Facial (to bring a youthful glow back to the skin).

PREPARING FOR YOUR PRP PROCEDURE

You will be asked to avoid the following medications and herbs which may increase bleeding, and may cause bruising for at least two weeks prior to your PRP lip filler treatment:

  • Any NSAIDs (such as Ibuprofen, Aleve®, Motrin®, Advil®, or Aspirin®)
  • Coumadin
  • Garlic
  • Ginseng
  • Ginkgo Biloba
  • Glucosamine
  • Fish Oil, and St. John’s Wort, high doses of Vitamin E, and Alcohol.

PRP PROCEDURE

A PRP procedure is relatively simple. We begin by drawing blood, and allowing the PRP to separate from the rest of the blood in the centifuge.

Then, we inject the PRP into the lips with a blunt-tipped needle, called a canula.

A local anesthetic will be placed on the lips prior to being treated but you will be fully awake. A slight tingling feeling may remain for a 1-3 hours after the procedure due to the anesthetic.

AFTER RECEIVING PRP TREATMENTS

Redness, and a mild inflamatin may be present for a 24-28 hours. After 2-3 days a light peeling will occur. The maximum result will be apparent in about 3 months.

As with most cosmetic treatments, we recommend that you not exercise directly following treatment as this will raise blood pressure and interfere with the product settling properly.

Avoid alcohol, any non-prescribed blood thinners or NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin, Advil, Aspirin, and some herbs like St. John’s Wort, and high doses of vitamin E supplements for one week after treatment.
